We do not write in order to be understood; we write in order to understand. -C. Day Lewis

I'm an educator, writer, and content curator with a focus in rhetoric, education, communications, and new media. My passion resides in language and writing: how it works in the creation of meaning, how it manipulates us, and how we manipulate it based on our audience and intention. I completed my Masters in English with a concentration in Rhetoric and Writing from Auburn University, and currently teach high school English in Georgia, where I recently completed my state teaching certification for secondary education. Previously, I taught as an adjunct professor at the College of Charleston, and worked as a writing and training specialist in the Department of Homeland Security. On the side, I work as a freelance writer and editor for various publications. Peruse this site as you will; here you can find everything from samples of my writing and research to my teaching portfolio and favourite hobbies.
